Monterrey Mocha

Avalon FabricCCF0396-05

Monterrey Mocha has a warm, weathered taupe ground with irregular ivory and charcoal markings that rise in softly distressed vertical forms. Its layered surface gives the colourway a quiet, tactile depth rather than a flat brown appearance.

About this fabric

At 519 gsm, this is a substantial woven textile with the visual weight and textured handle suited to upholstery. The mocha-taupe base shifts subtly across the fine horizontal weave, while broken ivory marks and darker charcoal traces create an abstract, mineral-like pattern. The design has a 52 cm vertical repeat and 34.3 cm horizontal repeat, giving the scattered motifs a measured rhythm across the cloth. With a 137 cm usable width and 40 m standard length, it is practical for considered upholstery layouts where the pattern can be positioned deliberately.

How to use it

Use Monterrey Mocha on a generous sofa or statement armchair in a warm neutral room, bringing out its ivory flecks with boucle, stone or linen accents. Charcoal details will reinforce the deeper marks without making this softly muted colourway feel stark.

Use this substantial mocha-toned weave on sofas, occasional chairs or tailored headboards, pairing it with warm ivory and charcoal accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Monterrey Mocha without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
