Buta Embroidery Ink

Indira Fabrics FabricCCF0846-01

Buta Embroidery Ink pairs a soft cream ground with a dense field of cool, inky-blue curled buta motifs. The close-set pattern gives the swatch a richly worked surface while retaining a light overall impression.

About this fabric

This 432gsm fabric has a finely textured appearance, with small blue paisley-like curls and floral marks packed across the cream background. Its cool ink tone reads as softened navy rather than bright blue, giving the colourway a composed, graphic character. The pattern repeats every 16cm vertically and 32.5cm horizontally, creating a consistent small-scale rhythm across the 132cm usable width. With 34 threads per centimetre and a standard length of 30m, it offers a substantial textile base for upholstery applications.

How to use it

Use the cream-and-ink combination on a tailored chair, headboard or occasional upholstery, where the small repeat can add detail without overwhelming the form. Pair it with chalky neutrals and cool grey-blue accents to bring out the colourway’s crisp, slightly inky depth.

The cool ink-blue curls create a finely detailed, tailored look against the soft cream ground.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
