About this fabric

This Licorice colourway reads as near-black charcoal rather than a flat, ink-black plain, with faint horizontal shifts in tone across the woven surface. The close, compact weave gives the swatch a tactile texture while keeping the overall effect restrained and smart. At 380 gsm, it has a substantial textile presence for upholstery. Its 140cm usable width and 40m standard length are practical catalogue specifications; both vertical and horizontal pattern repeats are 0cm, so there is no repeat to align.

How to use it

Use this near-black charcoal shade for a tailored armchair, sofa or dining seat where its low-contrast texture can add depth without introducing a visible pattern. Pair it with pale timber, warm ivory or aged brass to soften the intensity of the dark ground.

Use this near-black charcoal weave on tailored upholstery, balancing its depth with pale timber, warm neutrals or brushed metal.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
