Java Mer

Java FabricM4150-03

Java Mer is a small-scale, all-over pattern with a deep teal-green ground and warm beige contrast. The effect is lively but controlled, with a soft, textured surface that reads as tailored rather than bold.

About this fabric

Woven in 56% viscose and 44% cotton, Java Mer has a refined handle that sits comfortably in the mid-weight zone, making it appropriate for both upholstery and drapery. The design shows a dense, irregular motif in layered teal, blue-green and charcoal tones against a pale beige base, giving the cloth a speckled, almost camouflage-like movement. At 136cm wide with a repeat of approximately V 46cm and H 34cm, it is scaled for statement seating or structured curtains where the pattern can be read clearly. The overall impression is cool, earthy and smart, with the contrast softened by the fabric’s woven texture.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an occasional chair, ottoman or tailored curtains where the deep teal ground can add pattern without feeling bright. It pairs especially well with oak, aged brass and chalky neutrals for a polished, grounded scheme.

A compact, mottled pattern that gives upholstery a tailored look and drapery a rich, textural finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
