Cantinella Onyx

Marius FabricF4221-03

Cantinella Onyx shows a classic damask pattern in a deep taupe-brown tone, with a soft, matte sheen that catches the light gently. The design reads refined and restrained rather than glossy, letting the woven texture do the work.

About this fabric

This fabric is from the Marius collection by Colefax and Fowler and is supplied as a fabric with no performance features noted. It has a repeat of approximately V 37cm / H 35cm and a width of approximately 141cm, which supports a patterned upholstery or curtain application depending on the room. The composition is 30% Linen, 30% Polyamide, 20% Cotton and 20% Polyester, giving the surface a grounded, cloth-like handle rather than a flat print. In this colourway the damask motif sits in warm onyx-taupe tones, with subtle contrast that makes the pattern visible without feeling harsh or high-gloss.

How to use it

Use this deep taupe in rooms that need pattern with understatement: it sits well against oak, stone and dark-painted woodwork. On an armchair or full-length drape, the muted brown depth gives the damask a quiet, formal presence.

A warm taupe damask that adds quiet depth to tailored interiors.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Cantinella Onyx without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
