Colefax and Fowler

Fontenoy Olive

Marius FabricF4859-01

Fontenoy Olive shows the Marius design on a deep mossy olive ground, lifted by large coral and blush flowers with pale sage highlights. The surface reads as a softly textured linen, giving the pattern a gently aged, decorative feel.

About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is 100% linen, with an approximate width of 141cm and a large repeat of V 73cm / H 70cm, so the scale of the design is fully in step with the generous floral layout. The olive background is muted rather than bright, which helps the coral, pink and soft cream blossoms feel warm and slightly antique rather than overly fresh. Fine scrolling stems and small trailing motifs add movement across the cloth, while the linen weave keeps the finish dry and natural. With no performance features noted and a fire code of √BM, it is a decorative furnishing fabric suited to considered interior schemes.

How to use it

Use this olive colourway where you want pattern depth without losing warmth: it works especially well with dark timber, aged brass and layered neutrals. The coral florals will bring life to a library, dining room or formal sitting room.

Best for statement curtains or upholstery where the warm coral florals can stand out against the olive ground.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
