Fontenoy Old Blue

Marius FabricF4859-04

Fontenoy Old Blue shows the Marius damask in a softened, antique blue that sits gently over a warm neutral ground. The large-scale floral pattern reads clearly, but the linen surface keeps the overall effect airy rather than heavy.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, this fabric has a natural, lightly textured handle that suits both drapery and upholstery use. The design repeats at approximately V 73cm by H 70cm, and the scale of the motif gives the colourway a proper presence across wider spans. In this Old Blue version, the pattern is washed in muted blue with touches of sage, pale aqua and stone, all set against a beige-cream ground that feels aged and elegant. The result is a traditional damask look with a softened, timeworn character rather than a crisp or bright finish. Care code Q 8 + T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want pattern without harsh contrast: it sits beautifully with painted timber, aged brass and pale oak. It would be especially effective on curtains, a tête-à-tête, or a statement armchair in a room with warm neutral walls.

A softly faded blue damask that brings a refined, traditional feel to either curtains or upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
