Fontenoy Red

Marius FabricF4859-03

Fontenoy Red brings the Marius design to life in a warm coral-red ground with softly aged floral detail. The large-scale pattern reads richly layered, with pale blush, sage and saffron accents lifting the darker red base.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% linen, Fontenoy Red has a natural, breathable handle that suits both upholstery and drapery applications. The repeat is approximately V 73cm and H 70cm, and the scale feels generous and decorative across the cloth. In this colourway, the red ground is softened rather than bright, sitting between terracotta and coral with a gently timeworn finish. The floral motifs show cream, blush, sage and touches of gold, giving the pattern depth without losing its warmth.

How to use it

This red works well in a room that can handle a confident, traditional statement, especially on an occasional chair, sofa or curtains where the large repeat can breathe. Balance it with muted plaster tones, natural timber and calm linen plains to keep the palette elegant rather than overpowering.

Pair with quiet linens and aged wood to let the rose-red ground and softened pastel florals stay the focus.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Fontenoy Red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
