About this fabric

This colourway of Genista from the Medora collection by Colefax and Fowler is woven in a substantial mixed composition of 56% cotton, 10% linen, 10% viscose, 8% acrylic, 8% wool, 6% polyester and 2% polyamide. At approximately 138cm wide, it suits both upholstery and drapery applications, and the visible weave has enough body to hold the stripe structure clearly. The pattern repeat is a generous V 41cm / H 69cm approx, which gives the alternating bands room to show their detail, from tiny geometric borders to wider earthy panels. Tomato red sits against teal, cream and muted olive tones, creating a warm-but-fresh palette that feels collected rather than flashy.

How to use it

Use it on a chair or ottoman to bring colour into a neutral scheme, or hang it as curtains where the horizontal stripes can create a relaxed, tailored look. The tomato and teal combination works especially well with natural woods, chalky paint colours and upholstered plains in cream or soft sage.
