About this fabric

This Olney fabric by Colefax and Fowler is composed of 49% viscose, 35% cotton, 9% linen and 7% polyester, and it comes at approximately 138cm wide. The pattern repeat is a neat V 1cm / H 4cm approx, which creates the crisp, closely spaced chevron effect visible across the swatch. In Bracken Gold, the yarns read as a muted brassy beige with honeyed undertones, so the pattern feels rich but not bright. The weave catches the light in a subdued way, giving the cloth a calm, tailored look that works well in rooms needing warmth without heavy colour. With no performance features noted, it suits considered decorative use where texture and tone are the focus.

How to use it

Use Bracken Gold on a small armchair, bench seat or pelmet where its warm gold tone can lift timber, linen and painted finishes. It also works well as a curtain or blind fabric in rooms that need a smart, softly aged note rather than a saturated colour statement.

A warm gold herringbone that adds texture without overpowering a scheme.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Bracken Gold without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
