Bracken Red

Olney FabricF4932-07

Bracken Red is a warm, earthy red with a finely patterned woven surface that gives the colour extra depth. The close chevron/check effect reads crisp and tailored rather than bold or glossy.

About this fabric

Bracken Red from Colefax and Fowler’s Olney collection is a fabric with a compact woven repeat, measuring approximately V 1cm / H 4cm, and a width of 138cm approx. Its composition of 49% viscose, 35% cotton, 9% linen and 7% polyester helps create the subtle body and textured handle visible in the swatch. The colour sits between terracotta and brick red, with a muted, slightly weathered warmth rather than a bright scarlet tone. The small-scale chevron pattern adds movement across the cloth while keeping the overall look understated and neatly structured. With no additional performance features noted, it suits schemes where the texture and colour do the talking.

How to use it

Use this soft brick-red colourway to bring warmth to a chair, banquette or cushion without overpowering the room. It pairs particularly well with oak, tobacco leather, parchment neutrals and aged brass.

A warm, versatile red with enough texture for upholstery and a tailored drape.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
