Bracken Cream

Olney FabricF4932-02

Bracken Cream is a gentle, light cream colourway with a soft woven surface and a barely-there linear rhythm. The overall effect is warm and understated, with just enough texture to keep the cloth from reading flat.

About this fabric

This Bracken Cream colourway in the Olney collection reads as a pale, warm cream with a quiet beige cast and a lightly slubbed woven texture. The surface has a subtle horizontal grain that softens the look and gives the cloth a calm, tailored feel rather than a crisp, polished one. It is composed of 49% viscose, 35% cotton, 9% linen and 7% polyester, with a width of approximately 138cm and a repeat of V 1cm / H 4cm approx. The fine, versatile weave and muted tone make it an easy choice where you want softness and light without introducing a strong colour statement.

How to use it

Use it to brighten upholstered armchairs, window seats or loose covers where the warm cream tone can sit comfortably with oak, limestone and painted woodwork. It also works well at the window in a layered scheme, especially where the pale ground needs to feel relaxed rather than stark.

A softly tailored cream with enough body for upholstery yet light enough for curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Bracken Cream without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
