Bracken Forest
Olney FabricF4932-06
Bracken Forest shows a fine herringbone woven in a softened bracken green, with a dry, lightly tweeded surface. The pattern reads crisp and orderly, but the overall effect is calm and natural rather than sharp.

About this fabric
This Colefax and Fowler Olney fabric is woven in a 49% viscose, 35% cotton, 9% linen and 7% polyester blend, giving the surface a lightly textural handle with a subtle, matte sheen. The repeat is approximately V 1cm / H 4cm, which creates a small-scale chevron rhythm that sits neatly across the cloth. In this colourway, the green is muted and earthy, sitting between moss and olive with a bracken-like softness that feels especially grounded. At approximately 138cm wide, it is a practical width for interior use, and the clean herringbone keeps the fabric looking tailored and controlled. The visible weave and moderate body make it an easy choice for schemes that want colour without brightness.
How to use it
Use Bracken Forest on a slim armchair, window seat or roman blind where its restrained green can add depth without overpowering the room. It pairs well with oak, aged brass and warm neutrals, which help bring out the fabric’s woodland undertone.
A quiet green herringbone that works beautifully on tailored upholstery or lined curtains.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Bracken Forest without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
