Morette Old Blue

Olney FabricF4934-03

About this fabric

This Olney fabric from Colefax and Fowler is a plain textile with no visible repeat, shown here in a restrained old blue shade that sits between faded denim and pale slate. The weave has a subtle cross-hatched texture, with the viscose, linen, cotton and synthetic blend giving it a neat, lightly dappled handle. At approximately 140cm wide, it is a practical cloth for curtains or upholstery where a calm, textural finish is wanted. The colour appears cool and softened rather than bright, so it works especially well when you want blue without sharpness.

How to use it

Use this old blue with chalk white, weathered oak and pale grey for a fresh but settled interior. It is especially effective in rooms that need colour with a low-key, upholstered feel rather than a bold accent.

A calm, quietly tailored blue that works beautifully on both relaxed upholstery and refined curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
