Harrison Old Blue

Ruskin II FabricF3922-06

Harrison Old Blue is a quietly tailored stripe with a soft, washed blue-grey character. The vertical bands read clean and understated, with just enough texture to stop the surface feeling flat.

About this fabric

Woven in 42% cotton, 41% linen and 17% viscose, Harrison has the dry, natural handle you would expect from a linen-rich fabric, with a little extra softness from the viscose. The swatch shows a pale blue-grey ground broken by narrow vertical stripe bands that sit close together in tone, giving the design a restrained, architectural rhythm. At approximately 141cm wide with a vertical repeat of 0cm and horizontal repeat of about 12cm, it is straightforward to pattern match for both upholstery and curtains. The overall effect is cool, light and composed rather than strongly contrasted, which lets the weave texture do most of the work. The √BM fire code and Q 8 : T 3 care code make it a practical decorative fabric for considered interiors.

How to use it

This colourway works well on a tailored armchair, where the pale blue-grey stripe can add structure without dominating the room. It also suits relaxed drapery in rooms with stone, chalk, or weathered wood finishes.

Use for refined upholstery or full-length curtains where the pale blue-grey tone can keep a room feeling calm and bright.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Harrison Old Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
