About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is woven in a 70% cotton, 30% linen blend with an approximate width of 138cm and a vertical repeat of 19cm and horizontal repeat of 34cm. In this colourway, the narrow blue stripes read soft and cool, while the decorative vine stripes add a gentle taupe and faded lavender note against the pale ground. The overall effect is light, ordered and slightly country-house in character, with enough definition to bring pattern without overpowering a room. Its mid-weight cotton-linen handle makes it suitable for both upholstery and drapery where a structured, refined finish is desired.

How to use it

Use it on an upholstered armchair, bench or curtains where the powder-blue stripes can sit against painted woodwork, pale oak or natural linen. It works especially well in rooms that need a fresh, traditional note without strong saturation.

A restrained blue stripe with delicate floral detail, ideal for tailored interiors.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Chesham Blue without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
