Porter & Stone

Balmoral FR Teal

Balmoral FR Fabric

Balmoral FR Teal pairs a deep forest-teal ground with soft cream panels and fine rose-red striping. The large tartan check feels traditional but fresh, with a lightly textured woven surface that softens the contrast.

About this fabric

This Porter & Stone fabric is 140cm wide and made from 78% polyester and 22% cotton, giving the cloth a practical woven body with a natural-looking handle. The pattern repeat is 32cm vertical by 35.5cm horizontal, so the broad check reads clearly across larger upholstered pieces or relaxed window treatments. In this colourway, the teal is rich and slightly muted rather than bright, balanced by chalky beige blocks and narrow pink-red lines that lift the whole design. The weave has a soft, cloth-like finish rather than a glossy surface, which keeps the palette grounded and easy to live with. Care instructions are BQV1<.

How to use it

This shade works well with oak, aged brass and off-white paint, where the teal and blush lines can add warmth without feeling loud. It also suits country-led interiors or relaxed living spaces that need a checked fabric with enough presence for both curtains and upholstery.

Use with warm neutrals and oak to let the teal-and-rose check stay crisp and characterful.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
