About this fabric

This Fryett's Fabrics cloth is woven to a 140cm width and made from 48% polyester, 29% viscose, 16% linen and 8% cotton, giving the design a grounded textile handle. The repeat measures 16cm vertical by 19.5cm horizontal, and the pattern reads as a gently trailing botanical with a regular, easy-to-place rhythm. In this colourway, the flowers range from deep wine red to fresher blush pink, while the stems and leaves sit in a muted olive that keeps the overall look warm rather than sharp. The pale background lets the rouge tones stand out without feeling heavy, and the visible weave adds a slightly relaxed, upholstered character.

How to use it

Use Midhurst Rouge on an armchair, bench or occasional sofa where the red florals can add depth against timber, stone or neutral paint. It also works well with muted greens and antique brass, which echo the olive stems and the fabric’s warm, heritage mood.

Pair with warm wood and aged brass for a rich, tailored scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
