Kaku Denim pairs a cool, muted denim-blue ground with crisp white fish silhouettes arranged in a lively, swimming repeat. The blue has a softly weathered depth rather than a bright, saturated finish.

About this fabric

The chalk-white fish stand out clearly against the denim-blue background, with varied orientations creating movement across the surface. At 220 gsm and 149 cm wide, this is a versatile mid-weight fabric for both upholstery and drapery. Its 46.8 cm vertical and 49.5 cm horizontal pattern repeats keep the shoal-like motif legible across a larger cut. The supplied specification records 443 threads per cm, while no performance features are noted.

How to use it

Use Kaku Denim on relaxed occasional chairs, cushions or informal curtains where its cool blue tone can sit alongside white, pale timber and soft grey. The white fish motif adds a playful coastal note without the brightness of a vivid blue.

Use the cool denim-blue ground and white fish repeat to bring a relaxed coastal character to seating, cushions or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
