Kaku Honey

Idyllic Fabrics FabricHAF0568-01

Kaku Honey pairs a warm honey-ochre ground with rows of loosely painted cream fish, creating a lively aquatic pattern with a softly handmade character. The pale motifs stand clearly against the golden field without feeling harsh or overly bright.

About this fabric

The repeating fish are rendered in an off-white cream, with varied silhouettes, tails and brush-like edges that keep the arrangement animated across the cloth. At 220 gsm and 149 cm wide, this is a versatile mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery applications. Its vertical pattern repeat is 46.8 cm and its horizontal repeat is 49.5 cm, giving the fish a comfortably readable medium scale. The honey colour has a distinctly warm, sunlit depth, while the lighter fish shapes introduce an airy contrast.

How to use it

Use Kaku Honey to bring warmth to relaxed curtains, Roman blinds or loose cushions, pairing its ochre ground with natural wood, chalky neutrals and textured cream upholstery. The playful fish pattern also suits a reading nook, children's room or informal coastal-inspired scheme without relying on cool blue tones.

A warm, characterful fish print that brings playful movement to curtains, cushions and occasional upholstery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Kaku Honey without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
