Kantha Indigo/Maroon

Zamora Fabrics FabricHAF0656-01

Kantha Indigo/Maroon presents a lively procession of illustrated animals, birds and floral details arranged in cream-edged rectangular panels. Cool indigo and deep maroon give the intricate design a rich, timeworn character against the warm ivory ground.

About this fabric

This 500gsm fabric has a substantial woven presence, making it well suited to upholstery where the detailed folk-style pattern can be appreciated across a chair, headboard or footstool. The design combines indigo elephants, horses, birds and botanical forms with maroon, rust and mustard accents, while the cream ground keeps the overall colourway light enough to read clearly. Its 23cm vertical repeat and 134cm horizontal repeat create a strongly ordered, panel-like rhythm across the 134cm usable width. At 44 threads per centimetre, the close surface weave gives the printed-looking illustrations a tactile textile character.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an occasional chair or statement headboard, pairing its cool indigo with natural wood and echoing the warmer maroon details through plain cushions or painted furniture.

A characterful folk-inspired upholstery cloth that brings cool indigo and warm maroon detail to seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
