HEATHCLIFF Charcoal

HEATHCLIFF Charcoal shows a classic tartan layout in a cool charcoal ground, lifted by fine beige and black check lines. The overall effect is tailored and quietly traditional, with a muted depth that keeps the pattern from feeling busy.

About this fabric

This colourway is woven in 100% polyester and has a 140cm usable width, making it practical for coordinated interior schemes. The tartan repeat measures 35cm by 35cm, and the check reads clearly in the image with charcoal grey fields crossed by soft cream-beige and dark linework. With a Martindale rating of 20,000 and a general domestic upholstery grade, it suits everyday seating as well as drapery and accessories. The finish feels structured rather than heavy, so the pattern holds its shape without losing the subdued, smoky character of the charcoal base. It is treatable for FR drapery and upholstery, and the colour fastness rating of 5 supports confident use in light-filled rooms.

How to use it

Use it on a sofa, armchair or banquet seat where the charcoal ground can anchor the room without dominating it. It also works well for curtains or blinds alongside pale walls, natural wood and matte black accents.

A restrained charcoal tartan with soft beige lines that works neatly on tailored upholstery or classic curtains.

Pairs well with

HEATHCLIFF Charcoal is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
