About this fabric

Woven in 100% cotton, this Portland cloth has a usable width of 137cm and a 35cm horizontal pattern repeat, giving the bold stripe plenty of presence across a larger make-up. The visible herringbone-like weave softens the graphic bands of deep navy, saturated red and ivory, so the colourway reads fresh rather than flat. With a Heavy Domestic upholstery grade and a 30,000 Martindale result, it is suitable for chairs, cushions, curtains and other decorative pieces that need some resilience. It is also treatable for FR drapery and upholstery, and the pilling rating of 4 and colour fastness of 5 support practical everyday use.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want a sharper, more nautical note: it works well on a statement armchair, bench seat or Roman blind. Pair the navy and red stripes with painted whites, pale oak or brass for a crisp, coastal scheme.

Bold nautical stripes bring a crisp, tailored look to chairs, cushions or relaxed curtains.
