About this fabric

Part of the Modena collection by J Brown, this plain fabric is made from 100% polyester and specified for contract use, with an impressive 80,000 Martindale rub test. In the swatch, Modena Cyan shows a deep cyan-teal ground with subtle lighter flecks and vertical striations that soften the colour and add movement. The finish looks robust and practical, yet the tone remains elegant enough for considered interiors. It is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, and after care includes professional dry clean in situ or washing at 40°C, subject to the pattern book guidance.

How to use it

Use this shade on a sofa, banquette or occasional chair where you want a cooler alternative to navy, especially alongside charcoal, chalk white or pale oak. Its low-sheen, textured look also works well in contract spaces that need a strong colour without visual glare.

A cool, contract-grade teal that brings depth to tailored seating and pairs neatly with pale timber or crisp neutrals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
