About this fabric

This colourway reads as a chestnut brown with olive-gold warmth, the light catching on the raised texture to create a quietly variegated, almost brushed effect. It is a plain from the Modena collection by J Brown, with 92 colourways in the range, and this version feels especially grounded and refined. Made from 100% polyester and specified for contract use, it has a 80,000 Martindale rating, making it a strong choice where durability matters. The fabric is supplied back coated to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request, and it can be professionally dry cleaned in situ or washed at 40°C according to the pattern book.

How to use it

Use Modena Chestnut on an armchair, banquette or smart upholstered headboard to bring warmth without going too red or orange. Its muted golden undertone sits well with tobacco leather, walnut timber and chalky neutrals.
