Mimosa Chestnut
Mimosa Fabric145
Mimosa Chestnut shows a deep, earthy brown with a softly mottled surface that gives the plain a quiet depth. The finish reads warm and grounded, with darker lowlights that make the colour feel substantial rather than flat.

About this fabric
This colourway is a plain from the Mimosa collection by J Brown, woven in 100% polyester and designed for heavy domestic use. The 40,000 Martindale rating supports its suitability for upholstery, while the back-coated fire treatment is supplied to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request. Visually, Chestnut is a rich brown with chestnut and cocoa notes, broken up by a subtle woven texture that catches the light in a soft, brushed way. The effect is refined and weighty, making the fabric feel dependable and smart without looking overly formal. Professional dry clean in situ is recommended, with further care guidance in the pattern book.
How to use it
Use this chestnut shade on sofas, armchairs, or banquettes where you want a darker, more settled brown that warms timber and leather. It pairs especially well with cream, tobacco, and muted olive accents for a layered, understated scheme.
A rich brown with a softly broken surface, ideal for tailored seating and grounded interiors.

Pairs well with
Mimosa Chestnut is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
