About this fabric

This colourway reads as a warm, muted beige with a fine peppered texture that gives the plain surface depth without adding contrast. The 100% polyester cloth is specified for contract use and has a Martindale rating of 40,000, making it a practical choice where durability matters. Its back-coated fire performance is supplied to Cigarette & Match to BS5852, with other treatments available on request. Visually, the weave sits in an easy natural range rather than a stark cream or grey, so it brings warmth while staying restrained.

How to use it

Use Barley where you want a neutral that feels softer than stone and less creamy than ivory. It pairs well with oak, putty, and muted olive for calm, tailored interiors.

A calm barley tone that works neatly across upholstery and curtains in classic, easygoing schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
