About this fabric

This 100% wool fabric combines broad vertical and horizontal bands with finer intersecting lines, creating a medium-scale plaid with considerable depth. The Sumburgh colourway balances cool plum and charcoal with earthy olive and warm brown, while narrow rust lines add subtle warmth across the design. At approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery, with Contract and General Domestic upholstery grades. After-care is dry clean only.

How to use it

Use Sumburgh on a reading chair, sofa or full-length curtains where its plum and olive colouring can sit alongside walnut, aged brass, tan leather and warm neutral walls.

Use the deep plum, olive and tobacco tones to bring structure and warmth to curtains, fixed upholstery or tailored seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
