About this fabric

This medium-scale plaid combines broad burgundy and rust-red blocks with charcoal bands, muted olive passages and fine ochre and cream overchecks. The 100% wool construction has a visibly textured, matte weave that gives the darker tones depth rather than a flat printed effect. At approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery and carries Contract and General Domestic upholstery grades. Beachcomber Monach should be dry cleaned.

How to use it

Use the deep burgundy ground and charcoal checks to anchor a reading chair, sofa or banquette, pairing it with warm timber, aged leather and muted olive accents. Made-up curtains would bring the same autumnal red and ochre depth to a room without losing the plaid’s tailored definition.

A richly coloured wool plaid that brings structured pattern and warm depth to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
