About this fabric

The close surface has a softly raised, light-catching velvet appearance, allowing the deep red ground to shift subtly across the swatch. Stylised dragon forms sit among curling foliage, blossom-like flowers and scrolling cloud shapes, with olive-gold, turquoise, blue, pink and cream accents creating strong contrast. At approximately 137cm wide, this fabric is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery, with a General Domestic upholstery grade. It is composed of 24% cotton, 69% viscose and 7% polyester, and should be dry cleaned.

How to use it

Use this lacquer-red colourway where a room can carry confident pattern and saturated warmth: an accent armchair, upholstered bench or full-length curtains can make the multicoloured dragons the focal point. Balance it with quieter olive, warm cream or dark wood tones to let the turquoise and pink details register without competing.

Use the vivid lacquer-red ground to bring theatrical colour to a statement chair, headboard or upholstered bench.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Double Dragon Lacquer Red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
