Orta Chalk is a pale, softly flecked cream textile with a close, even weave. Its chalky surface is subtly varied rather than stark white, giving the plain cloth a gentle natural depth.

About this fabric

The visible surface has a fine horizontal-and-vertical weave, with tiny oatmeal and grey-beige flecks moving through the light cream ground. This restrained texture keeps Orta Chalk plain while preventing it from looking flat or clinical. Made from 43% linen, 51% viscose and 6% polyester, it is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery. At approximately 137cm wide, it is graded for Contract and General Domestic use and should be dry cleaned.

How to use it

Pair Orta Chalk with warm timber, pale oak and softly weathered neutrals where its cool, chalky cream can brighten the scheme without the harder contrast of pure white. Its subtle woven texture also works well on fixed seating alongside linen-look curtains.

Use its pale chalk tone to bring quiet lightness to upholstered seating, curtains and layered neutral schemes.
