About this fabric

Woven in 30% cotton, 25% viscose, 15% linen and 30% wool, Pluto Rust has a dry, natural handle with a gently variegated surface that gives the colour extra depth. The 137cm width and plain repeat make it straightforward for upholstery or drapery projects, while the 40,000 Martindale rating and contract/general domestic upholstery grade support everyday use. Its BS5852 Part 1 Source 0 and 1 compliance, along with dry clean and stain resistant care, make it a practical choice as well as a decorative one. In this colourway the rust sits between burnt orange and clay, catching the light with a muted warmth rather than a bright shine.

How to use it

Use Pluto Rust to bring warmth to neutral seating, or pair it with oatmeal, tobacco leather and aged brass for a layered, autumnal scheme. It also works well as curtains where the terracotta tone can soften daylight without feeling flat.

A warm rust tone that adds earthy richness to both curtains and upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
