About this fabric

This plain weave has a dense, textile-rich appearance, with fine horizontal and vertical threads creating a subtly mottled surface rather than a flat solid colour. Vara Slate reads as a cool charcoal grey, softened by lighter grey flecks that catch across the weave. At approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for fixed upholstery in Contract and General Domestic settings. Its composition is 17% viscose, 23% recycled polyester, 44% acrylic, 7% linen and 9% polyester, with dry-clean care.

How to use it

Use Vara Slate on a tailored sofa, dining chair or banquette where its deep grey tone can anchor a room without the starkness of black. Pair it with pale stone, chalky neutrals or brushed metal to bring out the cooler flecks in the weave.

A deep slate-grey plain weave for tailored fixed upholstery and darker neutral schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
