Foss Slate

Balvenie FabricLF2358FR

Foss Slate brings a deep, cool slate-grey tone to the Balvenie collection, with a clearly defined herringbone weave visible across the swatch. Fine pale and olive-grey threads soften the darkness, giving the surface a subtly variegated finish rather than a flat solid colour.

About this fabric

The dense woven surface is made from 100% Pure New Wool and shows a compact, directional herringbone with softly raised texture. Its charcoal-slate base is interlaced with muted beige, grey and olive-brown flecks, creating depth that shifts gently as the light catches the weave. At approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery. The General Domestic upholstery grade makes it suited to everyday upholstered pieces where a tailored, textural finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use Foss Slate on a structured armchair, sofa or bench to bring cool depth to a room, pairing it with warm timber, aged leather and pale stone. As curtains, its dark herringbone pattern will frame windows with a softly tailored, cocooning effect.

A dark, tailored herringbone for quietly sophisticated curtains, fixed upholstery and layered neutral schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
