Tay Smoke

Balvenie FabricLF2357FR

Tay Smoke is a close, understated wool weave with a cool smoke-grey ground and softly mottled taupe and olive-grey fibres. Its quiet tonal variation gives the plain surface more depth than a flat grey.

About this fabric

Woven from 100% pure new wool, Tay Smoke has a compact, tactile surface that reads as a versatile mid-weight textile. The fine irregular yarns create a subtle peppered effect, with muted grey, taupe and faint olive notes shifting gently across the face rather than forming a visible motif. At approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery and carries a General Domestic upholstery grade. After-care is dry clean.

How to use it

The cool, softened grey-green cast works particularly well with charcoal, aged oak, stone and brushed metal. Use it for clean-lined fixed upholstery or relaxed curtains where its fine woven texture can be seen at close range.

Use this cool, softly flecked smoke grey on tailored upholstery or full-length curtains alongside warm wood and natural textures.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
