Tay Slate

Balvenie FabricLF2357FR

Tay Slate reads as a deep, softened grey rather than a flat charcoal, with subtle warmth threaded through the shade. Its close, tactile surface has fine diagonal movement that gives the plain weave quiet depth.

About this fabric

Woven from 100% Pure New Wool, Tay Slate has a dense, fine-scale texture with charcoal, grey and warmer taupe flecks visible across the surface. The restrained slate tone feels architectural and grounded, while the irregular yarn variation prevents it from appearing stark or uniform. At approximately 137cm wide, it is specified for curtains and fixed upholstery and carries a General Domestic upholstery grade. Dry clean care is recommended.

How to use it

Use Tay Slate on a tailored sofa, dining chair or full-length curtain where its cool grey depth can balance pale walls and soften alongside oak, walnut or brushed brass.

Use the cool slate-grey ground to anchor rooms with natural woods, chalky neutrals and warm metallic accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
