Tay Brick Red

Balvenie FabricLF2357FR

Tay Brick Red has a warm, earthy presence, with brick-red yarns subtly mixed with russet and muted brown tones. Its close, lightly textured weave gives the colour gentle variation rather than a flat, uniform finish.

About this fabric

Woven from 100% Pure New Wool, this 137cm-wide Balvenie fabric is listed for curtains and general domestic fixed upholstery. The surface appears densely woven, with tiny diagonal shifts in the yarn creating a soft, broken texture across the brick-red ground. Under the light, the shade moves between terracotta, muted red and warm brown, giving it a grounded depth. After-care is dry clean, and the fabric is also listed for loose cover upholstery.

How to use it

Use Tay Brick Red to bring warm, autumnal depth to a reading chair, sofa or upholstered headboard, balancing it with oatmeal, natural linen and dark timber. As curtains, its heathered red tone can add colour without the sharper intensity of a clear scarlet.

A warm, heathered brick-red wool with enough depth for tailored upholstery and softly structured curtains.

Pairs well with

Tay Brick Red is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
