Red Car Stripe Forest/Linen

Little Book of Morris Fabrics FabricMOF0200-03

Red Car Stripe Forest/Linen pairs a cool, deep forest-green stripe with a light linen-coloured ground. Within each narrow vertical band, small leafy motifs and fine red accents give the design a richly worked appearance.

About this fabric

The fabric shows repeated narrow stripes, alternating open linen-coloured channels with dense forest-green botanical bands edged by delicate red lines. Its dark green reads grounded and slightly cool against the pale ground, while the woven surface gives the pattern visual depth rather than a flat printed effect. At 546gsm and 19.5 threads per centimetre, it has a substantial, closely constructed handle suited to upholstery. The 142cm usable width carries a 7.5cm vertical repeat and an 11.5cm horizontal repeat.

How to use it

Use this forest-and-linen colourway on a tailored armchair, headboard or sofa where its narrow vertical rhythm can sharpen the silhouette. Pair it with warm timber and quiet natural neutrals to let the red detailing remain a subtle accent.

A substantial striped weave for tailored upholstery, with forest green, linen and restrained red detailing.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Red Car Stripe Forest/Linen without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
