Theodosia Red

Melsetter Fabric & Weaves FabricMOF0129-01

Theodosia Red has a warm crimson ground covered with curling stems, pomegranate-like fruits, flowers and finely drawn leaves. Its softly textured woven surface lets the lighter cream, olive and ochre details sit clearly against the saturated red.

About this fabric

The crimson-red ground reads warm and richly coloured, while the botanical forms are picked out in cream, muted olive, ochre and small blue-grey accents. Fine crosshatching across the cloth gives the close-set floral and fruit motifs a tactile, woven character rather than a flat printed appearance. The pattern has an 81 cm vertical repeat and a 140 cm horizontal repeat across the 140 cm usable width. At 440 gsm with 13 threads per cm, this is a substantial fabric suited to upholstery and other hard-working interior applications.

How to use it

Use Theodosia Red on a statement chair, footstool or banquette where its warm crimson depth can anchor a room. Echo the olive and ochre in cushions or painted furniture to draw out the smaller botanical details.

Use the warm crimson ground to bring depth to upholstery alongside aged woods, olive accents and warm metals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
