Middlemore Linen Chalk

Melsetter Wallpapers WallpaperMOW0089-05

Middlemore Linen Chalk pairs a soft, chalky grey ground with finely drawn ivory foliage, flowers, birds and small animals. The low-contrast palette keeps the intricate Melsetter Wallpapers design calm rather than theatrical.

About this wallpaper

This wallpaper has a 68.6 cm usable width and a 64 cm vertical repeat, allowing the varied botanical scene to unfold across the wall. Against the muted grey ground, ivory outlines pick out curling stems, leaves, blooms, fruit and a small menagerie including birds and a spotted cat. At 171 gsm, it has a substantial paper specification while retaining the delicate, drawn quality visible in the swatch. The absence of a horizontal repeat lets the composition continue naturally from side to side.

How to use it

Use Middlemore Linen Chalk in a bedroom, study or quieter sitting room where its cool grey tone can sit comfortably with chalk white, weathered timber and soft stone shades. Keep surrounding furnishings restrained so the fine ivory flora and animals remain legible without making the room feel busy.

Use this quiet chalk-grey ground to soften a room while the ivory menagerie and botanical linework add gentle visual interest.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Middlemore Linen Chalk without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
