Hoy Flint

Lethaby Weaves FabricMOF0116-03

Hoy Flint is a subdued taupe-grey woven fabric with a weathered, mineral-like appearance. Its close surface shows fine vertical tonal movement rather than a printed motif, giving the colour gentle depth as the light shifts across it.

About this fabric

At 605gsm, Hoy Flint has a substantial, upholstery-suitable presence, while its 34.6 threads per cm create a closely built surface. The colour sits between cool grey and softened taupe, with darker and lighter threads producing a naturally mottled, quietly dimensional finish. Its usable width is 141.5cm, and both the vertical and horizontal pattern repeats are 0cm, making the plain weave straightforward to position. The standard length is 25m, and no performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Hoy Flint on a tailored sofa, dining chair or headboard where its weathered taupe-grey tone can soften a room without introducing a strong pattern. It works particularly well alongside chalky neutrals, aged timber and darker grey accents that draw out the weave’s subtle depth.

A substantial taupe-grey weave with a restrained vertical grain, well suited to tailored upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
