About this fabric

The dominant tone is a muted blue-leaning grey with a taupe cast, rather than a flat charcoal or silver. Uneven vertical striations run through the surface, catching lighter fragments in pale blush and warm beige that soften the otherwise cool ground. At 555 gsm, Aurora Steel has a substantial handle suited to upholstery applications, with a 138 cm usable width. The design has a 76.5 cm vertical repeat and a 35 cm horizontal repeat, useful dimensions to consider when planning patterned upholstery.

How to use it

Use Aurora Steel on a sofa, headboard or occasional chair where its cool weathered grey can anchor softer blush, stone and warm ivory accents. The distressed vertical direction also works well on tailored upholstery, allowing the pale flecks to add restrained contrast without overwhelming the form.
