Queen Square Fabrics FabricMOF0141-02

Brer Rabbit Burnt Orange brings a deep, glowing rust-orange ground to Morris & Co.’s densely drawn botanical design. Fine darker linework gives the surface a richly layered, almost engraved appearance.

About this fabric

The fabric is patterned with repeated rabbits, leaves, stems and floral forms, picked out in darker russet lines against the saturated burnt-orange background. Subtle tonal variation across the surface lets the orange shift between glowing copper and deeper brick, while the fine woven texture keeps the detailed motif tactile rather than flat. It has a 137.2 cm usable width, a 64 cm vertical repeat and a 34.3 cm horizontal repeat, allowing the compact design to build into a continuous, closely arranged field. At 262 gsm, with 35.8 threads per cm, it is a versatile mid-weight suited to both upholstery and drapery.

How to use it

Pair this warm, earthy colourway with tobacco leather, dark timber and aged brass, or use it as a concentrated burst of orange on a chair against quieter neutral curtains.

Use the warm burnt-orange ground to bring depth to upholstery, curtains or layered accents in rooms with natural wood and aged brass.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Brer Rabbit Burnt Orange without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
