About this fabric

In close view, the face reads as compact and tactile rather than smooth, with countless short curls and stray loops across the surface. The charcoal base sits close to black, while cooler grey fibres and occasional warm brown threads soften its severity. There is no printed motif; the interest comes from the irregular looped texture and low-contrast flecking. The substantial-looking weave makes this colourway best read as an upholstery option, especially where a dark, textural finish is wanted.

How to use it

Use this near-black charcoal on a sofa, occasional chair or upholstered headboard where its curled surface can add depth without introducing a strong pattern. Balance the dark tone with pale timber, warm neutrals or softly aged metals.

A near-black, nubby texture that brings quiet depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
