Obsidian grey

Misc Fabricobsidia/fa1/qua

Obsidian Grey reads as a softly weathered grey with taupe undertones and a misted, tonal surface. The abstract effect feels atmospheric rather than bold, with pale highlights breaking through the deeper ground.

About this fabric

This fabric is woven in 100% polyester and measures 144.5cm wide, with a horizontal pattern repeat of 140cm and a vertical repeat of 67.82cm. The surface shown here has a distressed, clouded look in cool grey, muted taupe and silvery off-white, giving the colourway a smoky depth without harsh contrast. It is dry clean only and iron safe, so it offers a practical finish for interior use. With no fire-retardant treatment noted, it is best considered for decorative upholstery or relaxed drapery where a textured, contemporary effect is wanted.

How to use it

Use Obsidian Grey to soften clean-lined upholstery, or hang it at the window where its misty tonal marks will read like a faded plaster wall. It pairs especially well with pale woods, charcoal accents and stone-coloured upholstery.

Layer with oak, stone and brushed metals for a calm, contemporary scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
