About this fabric

This 100% polyester fabric is a substantial 420gsm, and the weave has the body to work well across curtains, blinds and upholstery. Painswick Steel has a pale, misty grey base with a fine check that reads in soft navy-blue and weathered taupe, creating a calm, classic finish rather than a sharp tartan look. The small 5cm horizontal and vertical repeat keeps the pattern orderly and compact, while the textured weave adds a gently dappled surface. With a 30,000 martindale and a dry-clean-only care instruction, it is a practical choice for everyday interiors that need both style and durability.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want a crisp, quiet pattern that still feels warm and textured; it works especially well on a small sofa, reading chair or Roman blind. Pair the cool grey ground with chalk whites, pale oak and ink-blue accents for a refined, layered room.
