Salvian grey

Naturalhistory Fabricsalvian/fa1/nat

Salvian Grey shows a softly structured large-check pattern with a cool, misty grey ground and lighter square blocks. The weave gives the design a tactile, lightly slubbed look that feels crisp rather than heavy.

About this fabric

This fabric is supplied as a 850gsm textile with a useable width of 138cm, and it is suitable for curtains, blinds and upholstery. The composition combines 54% acrylic, 16% polyester, 17% viscose, 9% cotton and 4% linen, which helps explain the balanced woven texture visible in the swatch. In this colourway, the grid lines read as a darker blue-grey against pale chalky blocks, creating a measured, modern check rather than a high-contrast statement. The surface has a dry, textured hand with subtle vertical striations in each square, giving the fabric a tailored and contemporary feel. It is dry clean only, iron safe, and not fire retardant.

How to use it

Use Salvian Grey on a clean-lined armchair or tailored curtain panel where its cool grey check can add structure without overpowering the room. It works especially well with stone, oak and brushed metal finishes.

The pale grey ground keeps this graphic check calm and easy to live with.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Salvian grey without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
