Lucius grey

Naturalhistory Fabriclucius/fa2/nat

Lucius Grey shows a bold zigzag motif in soft silver-grey against a pale ground, giving the swatch a fresh, graphic look. The woven texture adds depth, so the pattern reads structured rather than flat.

About this fabric

This colourway is made from 100% polyester and is supplied at 280cm usable width, with no horizontal or vertical pattern repeat, making the zigzag layout easy to plan across larger spans. The surface has a neat, tactile weave that gives the grey chevrons a slightly heathered, textured appearance, while the background stays light and airy. In this grey version, the design feels cool and restrained rather than heavy, with enough contrast to stand out but not overpower a room. It is suitable for curtains, blinds and upholstery, and should be dry cleaned only with no ironing.

How to use it

Use Lucius Grey on tailored cushions, a statement armchair or relaxed curtains where the crisp zigzag can bring movement to a neutral scheme. It works especially well with chalk white, pale oak and brushed metal accents.

Pair the cool grey zigzag with pale woods and clean-lined upholstery for a crisp, tailored finish.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Lucius grey without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
