Olana purple

Misc Fabricolana/fa1/dam

Olana Purple brings a painterly floral motif to a deep, dark ground, letting the lilac and blue petals float with crisp contrast. The design reads as softly romantic rather than sugary, with a cool, muted purple presence.

About this fabric

Woven in a 78% cotton, 22% polyester composition, this fabric has the body and handle suited to statement upholstery as well as decorative use. The swatch shows oversized blossoms, leafy forms and a small bird motif worked in chalky lilac, periwinkle, mint and pale blue against a near-black background. That dark ground sharpens the lighter strokes and makes the purple tones feel cooler and more atmospheric than vivid. With a width of 138cm, a horizontal repeat of 70cm and a vertical repeat of 68.5cm, it is a substantial patterned textile that will show its scale clearly on larger pieces. It is dry clean only, iron safe, and not fire retardant.

How to use it

Use it on a reading chair, ottoman or occasional headboard where the deep ground can anchor the room. It pairs especially well with weathered woods, smoky glass and soft grey-purple paint.

Pair with pale oak, chalky neutrals or mossy greens to let the painterly florals stand out.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
