Rydal purple

Penningtonweaves Fabricrydal/fa1/lil

Rydal Purple brings a lively floral trail across a pale ground, with lilac stems and blossoms mixed with soft green and plum accents. The overall effect is airy and decorative, but the weave gives it a grounded, textile feel.

About this fabric

Woven in 78% cotton and 22% polyester, this fabric has a substantial 594gsm handle and a 15,000 Martindale rub rating, making it suitable for curtains, blinds and upholstery. The design shows a scrolling floral trail in purple, mauve, sage and touches of teal against an ivory background, so the pattern reads detailed without feeling heavy. In this colourway, the purple is softened rather than saturated, giving the flowers a fresh, slightly vintage mood. The 140cm width and 35cm by 37.5cm pattern repeat make it practical for larger made-to-measure projects.

How to use it

Use Rydal Purple on a statement armchair, a feature blind, or curtains where the pale ground can lift a room while the lilac tones add personality. It sits especially well with weathered oak, muted greens and stone-coloured upholstery.

Pair this painterly lilac weave with pale woods and chalky neutrals for a fresh, softly decorative finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
